Hi everyone,

I thought now would be a good time to update you on the status of UI Options.

We have made a huge push forward on UI Options since 0.8 which includes:
  - a table of contents
  - an easier to find section
  - a default persistence strategy using cookies
  - a nicer interface for setting font size using a slider
  - a cleaner interface in general
  - an improved strategy for setting contrast which included the
creation of several themes

UI Options is really beginning to look good and have a big impact on
the interface. All of this change has happened in a short amount of
time which of course means that we are still finding bugs and
squashing them. In order for UI Options to be production ready we have
several things outstanding including:
  - API stabilization
  - cross browser support
  - more automated tests

For more details take a peak at the UI Options section of Justin's
most recent bug parade.

Justin, Jacob and I met today to discuss what we felt had to be done
to move UI Options from preview to production ready in hopes that we
could knock that list down a bit. In the end, we decided that we need
to squash all the UI Options bugs on the bug parade to be production
ready. We are making good progress but as you can see that list is
quite long. If you have some spare cycles a hand would be appreciated.
:)

It would be very nice to move to production ready for the 1.0 release,
however that is not something that we will do lightly. If we are
unable to squash all of these bugs during bug parade, UI Options will
continue to be in preview until the 1.1 release. Regardless, I'm
really happy with the progress that we've made. I believe Laurel is
planning to integrate UI Options into the fluid website soon which
will be a good opportunity for us to see it in a production context.
