GSoC - Using a Game Controller as a Navigation Aid

Hi, Mohit.

Sorry for the delay in responding, the other mentors and I needed time to
talk about a few things. Probably the best place to start is by
familiarising yourself with our community and its practices, and going
through the rest of the material here:

https://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/Google+Summer+of+Code+2020+with+the+Fluid+Project

I assume you've at least seen some of that, as you found the mailing list!
But do be sure to go through it and especially familiarise yourself with
Infusion, which would be used for the gamepad project. If you have
questions, you can post them here or to the IRC channel. Although the IRC
channel is more real-time, most people work set hours, so you may have to
stick around for a while to get a sense of when the people you need are
around. As an example, I'm typically around in European working hours.

Once you've taken the time to get to know the community, get to know more
about the specific project. As a starting point, I've asked each candidate
to write up their experiences navigating using a keyboard for a half hour.
There are also references to various technologies we might use in the
project, familiarising yourself with those would also be helpful.

Anyway, I hope that gives you a starting point, feel free to get in touch
with questions or comments.

Thanks,

Tony
