Thanks for the responses everyone!

Johnny, yes I think that was one of the reasons we used Comic Sans. The other reason I think was because of browser support for custom fonts. But maybe we could address that by using Comic Sans as the fallback font family?

Justin, I attached a version with the ' * ‘  moved to the side instead - to be consistent with the arrangement with the floe logo. I agree with Anastasia that we need something to differentiate our logo with other projects with the same name.

And how it doesn’t have the ascender protruding for the top of the character, right? What does having the stroke (sorry for the sloppy type descriptions, I’ve got a lot on my mind today) provide a reader? Does it help with dyslexia specifically? And by using open dyslexic you could potentially address this issue as well as  address others, at the same time? Seems more than reasonable to me.

Thanks for passing this along. I can imagine this font being an ‘option’ in a preference within GPII, but for a logo it might be impractical to choose a font that accommodates a particular population. Our approach has been to find something that is universally understandable and readable or recognizable — these seem the goals for a logo.

The "AltaBold" is my personal favourite :3 though I understand it can be a major breakage of the whole UI of the web :- /

Hi All,

Right now the Fluid and Floe logos are using Helvetica Neue, and I want to suggest we switch to an open-source licensed typeface. Attached is a version using Droid Sans an Apache 2.0 licensed typeface - it has similar proportions and some nice slant details.

Let me know your thoughts.
