hi everyone,
There was an initial meeting today in Breeze about the mobile version
of FSS. We talked about some existing mobile css frameworks, how the
ideas out there may relate to our implementation, and our 'next steps'.
There is a new wiki page for this topic:
http://wiki.fluidproject.org/display/fluid/FSS+Mobile+Development
Here are the notes from the meeting:
Mobile Theming & FSS
Goals
* Share research
* Break work up into chewable tasks
* Get 'em into JIRA
Questions
* When do we need JS instead of pure CSS?
* Will CSS3 cause a problem for also supporting the desktop?
* Do we want to support a purely native app look and feel? Or can we
innovate and design in a more "webbish" way?
Architectural Goals
* Aim for pure CSS where possible
* Make it modular
* Consider UI Options-y thing on the server to allow us device-
specific transformations
Next Steps
* Check the licenses (JF)
* Compile a list of features
- features supported by various frameworks
- features we wish were supported
- other cool ideas
- break it down by interactions
- lists, widgets, types of animations, etc.
* Determine a plan for features in iFSS
* Break those tasks up along priority/difficulty axes and define
work for the next couple of iterations
- i.e. break up the features into work we can do in two-week waves
