It certainly sounds close - in fact, I wonder if the set of links to  
starter pages is essentially the same thing as your virtual manual  
table of contents, or at least should be.

To me, this sounds quite reasonable.

I agree with this also: the word 'release' isn't right for this  
purpose, 'gateway' or 'topichead' would be much better. In this case,  
the 'release' label is no longer used, essentially - can a label be  
deleted in Confluence?
