[jQuery] A Plugin Development Pattern

As we embark on developing our first jQuery plugin (a first for me),  
I thought that this article would be helpful.

For those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, Colin,  
Michelle and I are interested in creating a jQuery keyboard handling  
plugin to compliment the jARIA plug in that was recently released  
into the wild and received with some enthusiasm by the jQuery  
community. Anyone got a snappy name?... OK, maybe that can wait until  
we actually write the code.
